Program Overview

Educational Objectives:

  1. Assess menopausal women utilizing the MQ6 screen and algorithm (as an efficient tool in primary care management)
  2. Qualify menopausal women for menopausal hormone therapy
  3. Differentiate available HRT options from tolerability and safety perspectives
  4. Provide follow up care, including decisions about duration of use, how to stop MHT, and how to counsel around benefit/risk evaluation

Susan Goldstein,

MD, CCFP, FCFP, NCMP Assistant Professor, DFCM, University of Toronto

Dr. Susan Goldstein is a community-based Family Physician and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. She is a menopause practitioner certified by the North American Menopause Society and is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Menopause Society.

For the last number of years, Dr. Goldstein has been involved in promoting menopausal education to health care providers through the creation of curricular and educational materials and has lectured across Canada on topics related to mature women’s health. She is the author of the MQ6 menopausal assessment tool and accompanying treatment algorithm, which were published in the April 2017 Canadian Family Physician.

Dr. Goldstein is the recipient of a number of honours and awards, including the 2014 W.T. Aikins Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and the Award of Excellence from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
